But none of that matters if the equipment gets rejected by the Authority Having Jurisdiction, or if your engineer of record won't stamp it. Verification built into every order
You (or your engineer) set the required certifications
For every item on the order, the required certifications are defined up front: CSA, cUL, cETL, ULC, AHRI, CRN, CGA, or whatever your project and jurisdiction demand.
Kelck sources to spec and records the certificate number
We source only from manufacturers whose equipment carries the required marks, and we enter the actual certificate number for each item on the platform. No vague assurances, just a real number you can check.
Your independent engineer of record verifies and signs off
Your own engineer reviews each item and stamps it verified. Kelck cannot verify its own items, and the engineer cannot edit the certificate number. The independence is enforced by the system, not just by policy.
Per-item shop drawings and a full audit trail
Submittals and shop drawings are coordinated per item, with a complete record of who approved what and when, ready for the AHJ and your files.
The sign-off is genuinely independent
This is the part that matters. On the Kelck platform, Kelck enters the equipment and its certificate number, but only your engineer of record can verify it, and the engineer can't alter the certificate number Kelck recorded. Neither side can shortcut the other. The result is a verification your engineer, your client, and the AHJ can all trust, because no single party controls it.

- Will equipment sourced overseas pass Canadian electrical inspection?
- Yes, provided two things are true: the equipment carries certification accepted in Canada (CSA, or a recognized equivalent such as cUL, cETL, or ULC), and it's installed to code. Kelck verifies the certification and records the certificate number on every item, and your independent engineer of record reviews and signs off before the order is placed. That is exactly what an Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) looks for.
- What is the difference between CSA, cUL, cETL and ULC?
- They are all certification marks recognized for the Canadian market. CSA is the Canadian Standards Association mark; cUL and cETL are the UL and Intertek marks bearing the 'c' (Canada) indicator; ULC is Underwriters Laboratories of Canada, common for fire and life-safety products. A Canadian AHJ will accept equipment bearing an accredited certification mark for the applicable standard. Kelck sources to the mark your project and engineer require.
- Who chooses which certifications are required?
- Your engineer of record does. On the Kelck platform, the engineer selects the certifications required for each item and then verifies them. Kelck cannot self-verify. This keeps the sign-off genuinely independent, which is what protects you at inspection.
- What about HVAC performance certification?
- HVAC equipment is sourced with AHRI performance ratings, plus CSA (or equivalent) safety certification, CRN for pressure-containing components, and CGA for gas-fired units where applicable. Each is verified and recorded on the platform.
- Do I get documentation for my records and the AHJ?
- Yes. Certificate numbers, submittals, and per-item shop drawings are all tracked on the platform and available to you and your engineer, giving you a complete, auditable record for the AHJ and for your own files.
